About
Jason Mehl has been awarded “Honorable Mention” in every award category that matters most to him. He would like to be the best, brightest, smartest, funniest, healthiest, and/or kindest person in any room, but he rarely is.
Sometimes he’s the tallest--the tall guy in the corner of any room, ready to talk energetically about how terrible and hopeful a panic attack can be, the sincerity of death metal, the moral clarity of Holden Caulfield, and how it’s ok to say you were a great trombone player in high school, as long as you were, because it’s not bragging (it can’t be--it’s the trombone).
His energy for gracious dialogue about things that matter to thoughtful people enables him to engage in enriching relationships, especially with those who are as uncomfortable, conflicted, burdened, misunderstood, and “Honorable” as himself.
